Washington University in St Louis Olin Business School

Olin Business School
BUILDING OLIN: A Foundation of Excellence
Buildings

All architecture is shelter, all great architecture is the design of space that contains, cuddles, exalts or stimulates the persons in that space.
— Philip Johnson, Architect, 1906–2005

About the building

  • The 102,000-square-foot Knight Hall will extend to the east from the Knight Center and provide a grand entryway to the business school from Throop Drive.
  • A two-story glass portal positioned under a glass-walled meeting room on the third level creates a transparent vista into Knight Hall and through the new ensemble of buildings to the campus level.
  • A landscaped terrace opposite the entrances to Knight Hall and the Knight Center will allow for easy access and room to admire the pleasing archways and stonework of the buildings.
  • Building will meet Washington University's standard of LEED Silver; goal is to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
